The Hollow Log Country Retreat

About the property
The Hollow Log - a private Nature Refuge, nestled in the secluded valley of Mt Byron in the Somerset Region, close to Lake Somerset and Lake Wivenhoe. Just over an hour's scenic drive from Brisbane brings you to this attractive 160 acre property. Bordered by Reedy Creek to the north it includes gentle creek flats, gradual slopes leading to hilltops with stunning views of the surrounding grazing land and forests.

Your private site is in the extensive bush garden planted with Australian native shrubs and trees - home to koalas, wallabies and kangaroos, gliders and possums, myriad bird life and other native 'critters'. Our friendly farm animals complete your country experience.

About the host, LEONIE ROBERTSON
Member since June 2017
Since our 'retirement' from previous employment husband, John (working for the local government), and I (a special education teacher and cattle breeder) have created a beautiful retreat to share with guests. My passion for nature conservation has seen me planting thousands of koala-food trees over the past 30 years and I enjoy my daily 'koala walks' around the garden. We are both grandparents and enjoy sharing The Hollow Log with guests of all ages.
