This property is owned by the Launceston Field Naturalist Club www.lfnc.org.au and is named after John Skemp, a member who bequeathed the land in the 1970's. A "field naturalist" is a person who enjoys exploring and learning from the natural heritage (environment)it's a form of citizen science!. There are about sixty Field Naturalist clubs across Australia. Not all clubs own their own land - we are lucky enough to own ours and now welcome others to enjoy it too. Money raised from campsite fees will go towards future improvements of the property.
