Tad and myself decided to do a total tree change after a run of events left us with health issues - it was decided that total peace and quiet was in order along with some very inventive ways to live. Over the past 5 years we have made Porters Retreat our home amongst the gum trees and nature. We live off the grid, relying on the sun to power our shed that we have converted into our home. This we have done using all recycled materials. I hope you enjoy our bush retreat as much as we do.

Stunning spot by the river. Stayed on a Friday night...very busy. Would come back mid week next time for more seclusion.

We had a wonderful time camping here. We had bonfire and the night sky was magical. We had a warm welcome from Mikaela. Wonderful hosts. we had walks through the pine forest and bushes and spotted wombats, kangaroos and wild emus. We highly recommend this place.

A great property on the edge of Abercrombie NP. Mikaela & Tad are perfect hosts and nothing is too difficult. They even offer art lessons which we took up and were stunned with the results. There are a variety of camp sites on the property, bush or open cleared area. A great place, we loved it!

The property is an ideal getaway hidden away on the edge of the national park with plenty of wildlife and lots of space. There's a few different options for camping with tight bush or wide open paddocks. Mickaela and Tad were both lovely as well and very accommodating.

If you are looking for a rustic off grid camping experience away from mobile phones, this place is sensational. Baby piglets were a delight... beautiful horses.... early morning kangaroos and chilly nights for a camp fire were perfect. Fantastic hosts!
