Kyla and I moved here 8 years ago to escape the rat race and haven't looked back. We love living with the wildlife and the clean fresh air. We live off the grid and produce our power using solar panels and two wind turbines. It's been an enjoyable journey looking after our own electricity, water and waste but well worth the effort. We're raising our two children, Leon and Maya in a clean and stimulating environment and their development shows it. We would recommend children get to know the bush.

Took a new 19ft caravan on a shake down trip. The ridge campground at the moment is probably more suited to tent or trailer based camping. A special mention here for the host Peter for the extra effort in making the stay enjoyable. Great mountain and valley views and central to explore the region

Simple camping at its most spectacular. No toilets so prepare to rough it but with a friendly host well worth stopping by on our way through

A fabulous bush campsite where you can reconnect with the sounds and smells of nature. Plenty of natural wildlife and beautiful views of the mountains. It is exactly as Peter describes it, nothing but a campsite, but I thoroughly enjoyed my four day stay here.

Gum Ridge Campground is probably the most amazing bushcamping experience with it's spectacular morning views of Mt Barney and Mt Lindsey surrounded by soft white clouds with their peaks poking through. Peter and his family were amazing hosts and their son had a ball with our kids.

An amazing and relaxing bush camping experience with the most spectacular view we have ever seen from a campground! We stayed over Easter and it was really relaxed with stacks of room and no noise but the sounds of nature. Peter and his family were lovely and very welcoming!

We had a fantastic time at Gum Ridge, the views were amazing and Peter and his family made us feel very welcome. We took our 22ft off road caravan in and had no problems at all, in fact just the perfect challenge.

Spectacular views truly make this a little piece of paradise. Lots of Wallabies and a friendly Goanna and peace and quiet make this a special place. Peter and Kyla made us feel very welcome and Leon and Maya had a ball playing with our kids. A little dusty at the moment but will definitely return.

Great place to camp. We had so much fun, awesome views and very friendly owners made you feel welcome and almost like a part of their family. I highly recomend Gumridge to everybody. We don't have anything negative to say about Gumridge.

We loved our night on Gumridge. A fantastic spot looking directly out over Mt Maroon, and the sunset was amazing. We camped and there were enough flat spots for all our tents (6 of them), and heaps of firewood on site for use. We'd happily come back!

Truly breathtaking views of Mt Maroon, Mt Barney, Mt Ernest & Mt Lindsay at any spot. The camp ground is a little challenging with lots of trees and stumps around and a bit dusty. Peter & his family are very friendly and helpful. Heaps of free firewood to have the perfect campfire.
