Hidden Valley @ Gro Mad Plantations

About the property
Hidden Valley is central on the Sunshine Coast but far away from city life. The farm has over 1km of dry creeks & rainforest, with many nice spots for relaxing and enjoying nature and watching the abundant wild life.
We adjoin Parklands Conservation Park. There are plenty of kangaroos & wallabies in the orchard, many lace monitors, water dragons, other native animals and an array of birds.
The farm has chickens & domesticated ducks, native bees & honey bees hives. Flushing toilets, cold shower, dogs on application. Campfires permitted.
We are a working farm, not a caravan park, and as such, we can’t have people dropping in to check out the place. So please don’t be offended when you call from the gate wanting to have a look around, to be told we are a private property.
Nearest main town and distance
Yandina is 3.5 km from the farm via sealed roads

Duck feeding
$ 5.00
We take a walk to the dam and feed our ducks some cracked grain. We have several Muscovy ducks, but there are often wild ducks hoping to get a bit of food too. A parent must accompany young children as we are beside water. No charge for the accompanying parent.

Stingless Native bee talk & taste
$ 10.00
We will show you inside a stingless native bee hive and explain how they help pollinate our macadamia trees, and the benefit of having a native bee hive in your own garden. This includes a taste of the unique sugar bag honey.

Chicken feeding
$ 5.00
Come feed the chickens while they are free ranging on the farm. I will give the kids a cup of cracked seed and / or some bread and they can collect 2 eggs for breakfast. In summer we often have young chickens which the kids can hold. But no promises, I don't incubate, it all depends on when the girls go broody. Footwear is to be worn. A parent must accompany young children. Children are not to return to the chicken feeding area without Glenn or myself.

$ 15.00
A 20 kg crate of seasoned hardwood from storm damaged tree here on the farm. Ample for a night around the campfire. There is plenty of kindling about and you are welcome to pick it up, preferable from the headlands to save us a job :) If you don't have time to collect kindling, we can supply a produce bag ready to go for $7

I make jam out of our spare produce. This week it is mango and ginger, so a little spicy. The organic mangoes are from our friend's farm, and the ginger and lemons grown here. I make Lemon Butter regularly, but this will need to be refrigerated.

Well set out campsite with lovely toilets and campire area. We went with our one year old and he had a ball investigating the area including checking out the chicken runs and macadamia trees. Close to Eumundi Markets (we went for breakfast). Highly recommend, especially for larger groups.

A beautiful location, peaceful and quiet located in a macadamia orchard. Close to the beautiful town of Yandina for coffee and less essential supplies like food The hosts are lovely people, very welcoming. Overall it was a great experience.

Sharon and Glen have a super quiet hidden dell in the Yandina rainforest. Macadamias,chooks,Roos,and birds roam the property’s trees and green lawns. This place is central to the coast and a number of national parks in the area. Will return one day. Many thanks.

What an excellent set up, flat grassed sites and unique clean amenities. Our daughter loved collecting the chickens eggs with Sharon. Excellent location to see the sites of the Sunshine Coast, we drove down the road to Australia Zoo.

Couldn't have asked for a nicer stay! Glen and Sharon were lovely and helpful. Great chat around the beautifully designed campfire. Sharon gave me a cuddle of her 1-day old chicks and gave us some great beach and market tips. Shower and loo facilities were excellent. Highly recommend. Thank you!

Lovely spot close to a waterfall, dam and 15 mins to the beach. Quiet and peaceful, we had a space to ourselves and relaxed under the macadamia trees and rainforest. The property owners showed us the stingless bee hive in the morning too which was amazing! Will stay again for sure :)
