About the property
Description
At the foot of the Watagan mountains, close to the Watagan 4WD tracks and picnic areas. Also close to Lake Macquarie where you will find fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing. About a 1/2 hour - 40 min drive to beaches.

Ideal for people wanting to try out their new camper, van or tent for the 1st time as we are an easy 1 hour drive north of Sydney on the M1 and close enough to shops for the forgotten items.

Please keep in mind this is a working property with horses etc. You might (or most certainly will) find some horse poo on the ground - we haven't yet been able to toilet train them hehe.

Also we have unfenced dams, if you are camping with young children please consider carefully and let me know before booking.

We hope to see you here at Bunyip's camp.

We love to have campers share our beautiful place. While here you will certainly meet our two friendly dogs who love to snooze by your campfire. They love other dogs too so your dogs are welcome here as long as they leave the horses alone. Robert and I and our sons will be here, we'll show you some good places to set up and if you like show you some of the bush walking tracks by the river. Our boys are always happy to show other kids the sand bank and the best places to slide down it.

My son and I had a great time at Bunyips camp. We bikepacked there from Newcastle and were greeted warmly by the owner Lisa, her boys & her 2 super friendly dogs. Lisa gave us directions to a good spot where we pitched camp and set about making a fire. Lisa is a warm, friendly helpful host. 10/10 :)

Bunyip's Camp was just what we needed: a quiet getaway close to Sydney, surrounded by trees and birdsong. We were tucked away at the back of the property in one of many lovely campsites. Our dog loved discovering the paddocks, gum trees and billabongs with her new doggy friend. Perfect. Thanks Lisa!

An amazing location offering a true "bush-camping" experience for those who don't want to trek too far into the wilderness! Lisa and her family are an awesome host. The designated campsites are well laid out with an abundance of wildlife and firewood. We'll definitely be coming back soon!

after a stressful day, I found i had the perfect place to relax at Bunyips. Handy location, friendly hosts and a lovely, quiet camping spot by the creek. Would recommend to anyone, particularly those from Sydney who might like a couple of nights camping without having to drive too far

Stayed for a weekend with our two little dogs. They had a marvellous time running around the paddock and through the bush. Lisa was very thoughtful and welcoming and advised on ticks before we arrived. The site was private, flat, accessible, with shade and sun throughout the day. We will be back
